How to match Slack channels to Gong accounts

slack2gong auto-matches each Slack Connect channel to a Gong account by the people in it. Here's how to review, confirm, and fix matches.

For activity to land on the right Gong timeline, each Slack Connect channel has to be matched to a Gong account. slack2gong does most of this for you and asks you to confirm.

How auto-matching works

slack2gong looks at the external people in each Slack Connect channel and cross-references them against the account data already in Gong. When it finds a confident match, it suggests that account for the channel. No CRM connection is involved — it uses Gong's data only.

Confirm or change a match

  1. Open the Sync Channels page in your dashboard.
  2. Review the suggested Gong account next to each channel.
  3. Confirm the ones that look right.
  4. For any channel that's wrong or unmatched, pick the correct Gong account manually.
  5. Ignore any channels you don't want pushed to Gong at all.

Don't see all your channels? slack2gong only lists Slack Connect (externally shared) channels. If one is missing, hit Refresh on the Sync Channels page.
