Once a channel is matched and the bot is a member, slack2gong adds a daily activity entry to the matched account's Gong timeline. Here's exactly what's in it.
What gets pushed
- A message count for the day in that channel.
- The participants involved (names).
- A link back to the Slack channel.
What never gets pushed
The contents of your messages. slack2gong counts messages and reads metadata — timestamps and participants — but it never reads, stores, or transmits message text. What lands in Gong is a number and a list of names, nothing more.
When it's pushed
Activity is bundled and pushed once per day, in the evening. You don't need to do anything — as long as the channel is matched and the bot is in it, the daily push happens automatically.
